Chat with your personal shopper anytime during order fulfillment to request changes, ask about replacements, or communicate other preferences.
You can edit your items, notes, and replacements anytime before your shopper begins shopping.
Chat with your shopper
In the app—
Open the Instacart app while your order is in progress.
- Go to Orders.
- Tap the current order.
- When your current order screen appears, tap the chat bubble icon in the upper right corner.
- Send your message.
- If you have turned on in-app notifications, you’ll receive an alert when your personal shopper replies.
On the website—
- At the top left, click the 3 horizontal lines.
- Click Your orders.
- Click View order detail on the current order.
- Click Leave a message for your shopper here!
- To view replies, keep the page open on your browser.
Spanish and French speaking shoppers' chats should automatically translate to English. If chats appear in another language, tap Translate under the chat.
Review chats on previous orders
After an order is complete, you can review the messages between you and your shopper on the Instacart app or website.
In the app—
- Go to Orders.
- Tap the order you want to view.
- Scroll down and tap Chat log.
On the website—
- At the top left, click the 3 horizontal lines.
- Click Your orders.
- Find the order and click View order detail.
- Click Chat log (located under Delivery Details on the right side of your screen).
