Use this article to save your store loyalty card to your phone's wallet app. This lets you access your loyalty card barcode at checkout without opening the Instacart app. This feature works for both new cards and updates to existing cards.
Before you start
Make sure you have:
- Your loyalty card already linked to your Instacart account
- The latest version of the Instacart app installed
- Apple Wallet (iOS) or Google Pay (Android) set up on your device
In the app—
- Tap the Account icon.
- Under Savings, tap Add Loyalty Cards.
- Tap the loyalty card you want to add to your wallet.
- Scroll down below the barcode and tap Add to Wallet.
- Follow the prompts to save the card to Apple Wallet or Google Pay.
Your loyalty card barcode will now appear in your phone's wallet app, letting you show it at checkout without opening the Instacart app. Your points and rewards will still track normally when you scan the barcode from your wallet.
Important: The barcode in your wallet is the same as the one in your Instacart app. Both work the same way at checkout.
Troubleshooting
I tapped "Add to Wallet" but nothing happened
- Check that Apple Wallet or Google Pay is set up on your device.
- Make sure your device's operating system is up to date.
- Close and reopen the Instacart app, then try again.
The barcode in my wallet looks different

This is normal. The barcode format may look different in your wallet app, but it contains the same loyalty card information and will scan correctly at checkout.
I already added my loyalty card to my wallet before—what happens if I use "Add to Wallet" again?

Your existing wallet pass will be updated automatically. You won't get a duplicate card in your wallet. The system recognizes that you already have this card saved and will refresh it with the latest information. You can safely tap Add to Wallet anytime to keep your pass current.
