Frequently asked questions
Q: When does my 30-minute window start?
A: Your 30-minute window starts the moment your original order is placed, not when you open the ExtraCart offer. Place your ExtraCart before the timer runs out to get the benefit.
Q: Is there a delivery fee on my ExtraCart?
A: No delivery fee on your ExtraCart ($35 min for Costco orders). Service fees still apply.
Q: I'm an Instacart+ member. Do I get anything extra?
A: Yes. Since your membership already covers $0 delivery fees, ExtraCart gives you the no-order-minimum benefit, meaning you can check out without adding $10 to your cart.
Q: Will my ExtraCart order arrive at the same time as my original order?
A: Not necessarily. Your ExtraCart may be assigned to a different shopper and arrive at a different time than your original order.
Q: What happens if my order is cancelled?
A: You won’t get any ExtraCart benefits if you cancel your original order.
Q: Why don't I see the ExtraCart offer after placing my order?
A: ExtraCart availability varies by location and retailer. If you don't see the offer in your app after placing your order, ExtraCart isn’t available for that order.
ExtraCart Terms & Conditions
Eligibility. ExtraCart is available to Instacart customers after placing your eligible original delivery order. You are eligible for ExtraCart only if the offer is displayed to you in the Instacart app after placing your original delivery order. Availability may vary by location and retailer. May not be available on all orders.
Offer window. The 30-minute ExtraCart window begins at the time your original order is placed. Your ExtraCart order must be submitted and confirmed before the window expires to receive the offer benefits. Orders submitted after the window closes are not eligible.
Offer benefits. The ExtraCart order submitted through ExtraCart receives: (a) a $0 delivery fee; and (b) no order minimum. Instacart+ members who already receive $0 delivery as a membership benefit receive the no-order-minimum benefit on their ExtraCart order.
Fees. Service fees apply. Each delivery order — your original order and your ExtraCart order — is subject to its own separate service fees. The $0 delivery fee offer applies only to the delivery fee line on the ExtraCart order; it does not waive or combine service fees across orders. Regulatory response fees apply where applicable.
Shopper assignment and delivery. Your ExtraCart order may be fulfilled by a different shopper than your original order. Delivery timing for the ExtraCart order may vary.
Cancellation. You will not receive the offer benefit if your order is cancelled. You can always contact customer service for assistance with rescheduling an order.
General. ExtraCart is subject to Instacart's Terms of Service. Instacart reserves the right to modify or discontinue ExtraCart at any time.
