Receiving an Instacart order as a gift
If the sender includes your mobile number at checkout, we'll send a text message with a link to your gift tracking page. The tracking page shows everything you need to know about your delivery and lets you take action if needed.
What you'll see on the tracking page
Your tracking link opens a page with two sections:
- Gift details — shows who sent the gift, your delivery details, the items in your order, and an option to reschedule your delivery window if needed
- Digital gift card or message — displays the personal message your sender included
Rescheduling your delivery
You can reschedule your delivery using the option on the tracking page. Cancellation is not available through this link — if you need to cancel, please contact the person who sent you the gift.
If we don't hear from you 2 days after sending the text message, or the sender didn't provide your phone number, we'll schedule the delivery based on the sender's directions.
If your tracking link doesn't work
The link may have expired or become invalid. If you're having trouble opening it, log into your Instacart account to view the order.
Please note: If your gift contains alcohol, you must show a valid ID at delivery. Local laws may require you to provide a signature for age-restricted items.
