Instacart Business makes it easy to get the supplies and groceries you need to keep your business running smoothly—delivered from your favorite retailers.

With a free business account, customers in Canada or the U.S. can track business purchases separately from personal purchases made on Instacart.

Instacart Business unlocks additional tools that aren’t available on standard Instacart accounts, such as:

  • Team management to invite coworkers with controls such as spend limits and order approvals.
  • Flexible, hassle-free payment options such as invoicing, credit cards, and more.
  • Simplified reporting and bookkeeping with bulk receipt exports and insights.

Instacart Business accounts aren't available for Groceries Powered by Instacart users.

Sign up for an Instacart business account

  1. Go to https://www.instacart.com/business.
  2. Select Create free business account.
  3. Enter your business email address.
  4. Select Continue. 
  5. Enter your 6-digit code sent to your business email address.
  6. Add your business name and type.
  7. Select Create business account.

After signing up, you gain access to free features and tools to help streamline and manage your business purchasing.

You can either import information from your existing personal profile to your new business account or use a business email address that isn’t attached to an existing Instacart profile to create a separate business account. Explore either option by following the Add Business Profile prompt.

Change your mind? Exit the sign-up process to switch back to the standard Instacart experience.

View Task Center

This centralized section in the Instacart app, lists a variety of tasks you can complete to get the most out of your business account. 

Tasks include adding business details, signing up for Instacart+, and adding tax exemption forms. You can also manage your team members or refer other businesses. Instacart doesn’t offer these features in all locations.

Select Get started under each task and follow the prompts in order to complete and have the task automatically removed from your task center. If you don’t want to complete a task or don’t want it showing in your task center, select the x in the top right of the task to remove.

Refer another business

In-app—

  1. Login to your Instacart Business account.
  2. Tap the account icon in the upper right corner.
  3. Scroll down and tap Refer a business, earn credit.
  4. Send a link via email or text message to the business you want to refer. Alternatively, you may tap Shop QR code to share a scannable code in person.

On the website—

  1. Login to your Instacart Business account.
  2. Select the 3 horizontal lines in the upper left corner.
  3. Select Refer a business, earn credit.
  4. Send a link via email or text message to the business you want to refer.
