Starting April 28, 2026, the South Carolina Department of Social Services will automatically block out-of-state and online EBT transactions.

While this is in effect, EBT cards cannot be used outside of South Carolina or online without unlocking your card. Note, pickup orders are treated as an online order so these transactions will also be blocked by default.

To make a purchase using your EBT card online or outside of South Carolina, you must unlock your card in the ConnectEBT mobile app, on the ConnectEBT website (ConnectEBT.com), or by calling the EBT Customer Service phone number at 1-800-554-5268.
